TEA INFORMATION: Although Earl Grey is normally associated with England and good srong Ceylon and Chinese teas, this unique variety is closely tied to South Africa, in particular the town of Howick. First, the Rooibos that forms the base of this blend is grown near the town. Second, the town is named after one of history’s Earl Greys, the Earl Grey (Viscount Howick). The town developed as settlers moved to the country, Earl Grey accommodated the needs of the droves of settlers looking for farmland. It seems fitting that this tea share its name with a man whose name became synonymous with repose and refreshment. Like all great Earl Grey teas, this tea is flavored with all natural Bergamot oil.
