PROVENCE ROOIBOS (Herbal Tea). COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: South Africa. GRADE: Choice Grade #1. MANUFACTURE TYPE: Fermentation turns the leaves from green to deep red and gives a slightly sweet note. CUP CHARACTERISTICS: Flavory with a floral and fruity bouquet; perfumy lavender notes. INFUSION: Reddish orange to full color. INGREDIENTS: Rooibos, Calendula, Thistle and Cornflower petals, natural flavors. TEA INFORMATION: The story of rooibos starts when the locals of South Africa first discovered that the fine needle like leaves of the wild “Aspalathus Linearis” plant made a tasty aromatic tea. They were first to harvest the plants, chop them with axes and bruise them with hammers leaving them to ferment before drying in the sun. Rooibos is a herb that contains no caffeine. Rooibos, however, does contain iron, potassium, calcium, copper, zinc, magnesium, fluoride, manganese and sodium. French lavender is added to give this great tea it’s wonderful and enchanting aroma and taste.
